Sertraline is indicated for the treatment of-
Pharmacology
Sertraline has a potent and specific inhibitory effect on CNS neuronal 5-HT reuptake, resulting in increased 5-HT concentrations at synaptic clefts and aiding in the maintenance of its action at postsynaptic receptor sites. It eventually manifests as a progression of despair. Another factor entangled in its action is sertraline's reduction of serotonin turnover in the brain. Because of its delayed elimination half-life, the once-per-day organization is a benefit.

Interaction
The administration of Sertraline to a patient who is already taking another medication that is tightly linked to protein, such as warfarin or digitoxin, may produce a change in plasma concentrations that could have an unfavorable effect. This is because Sertraline is tightly bound to plasma proteins. On the other hand, Sertraline which has been protein-bound may be replaced by other medications that are strongly bound, causing negative effects. Other medications like Cimetidine, CNS-active pharmaceuticals like Diazepam, Hypoglycemic medications, Atenolol, etc. may interact with sertraline.
Contraindications
Escitalopram is not recommended for patients who have a known hypersensitivity to Escitalopram, Citalopram, or any of the drug's inactive ingredients. It's not a good idea to take escitalopram and monoamine oxidase/pimozide at the same time.
Side Effects
Pregnancy & Lactation
Although animal studies did not provide any evidence of teratogenicity, the safety of Sertraline during human pregnancy has not been established. Sertraline is known to be excreted in breast milk. Its effects on the nursing infant have not yet been established. If treatment with Sertraline is considered necessary, discontinuation of breastfeeding should be considered.
Precautions & Warnings
In the event of seizures, heart problems, liver problems, kidney problems, or other hypersensitivity, precautions should be taken. The sedative could make you drowsy or lazy. Exercises requiring readiness, such as operating machinery or driving a car, should be done with caution. The elderly should exercise caution when using this product since they may be more sensitive to the side effects of the drug. If you have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor within the previous five weeks, avoid using this drug. A chance of developing self-destructive thoughts and changing one's conduct exists (close observation of the understanding after two to three weeks of use is necessary).
Storage Conditions
