Lotil 20 (omeprazole) inhibits the final step in gastric acid secretion by selectively blocking the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme (proton pump) on gastric parietal cells, significantly decreasing acid production—both basal and stimulated.

Adult Dosage

Erosive Esophagitis: 20 mg/day for 4–8 weeks; maintenance for up to 12 months.
NSAID-related Ulcers: 20 mg/day.
Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: Start with 60 mg/day, adjust up to 120 mg/day in divided doses.
H. pylori Infection: 20 mg twice daily or 40 mg once daily in triple or dual therapy regimens.
Pediatric Dosage
1–16 years:
5–10 kg: 5 mg once daily
10–20 kg: 10 mg once daily
20 kg: 20 mg once daily
Erosive Esophagitis in infants (1 month–1 year):
3–5 kg: 2.5 mg/day
5–10 kg: 5 mg/day
10 kg: 10 mg/day (up to 6 weeks)

- Take once daily in the morning on an empty stomach, preferably one hour before meals.
- Do not crush or chew the capsules; swallow whole. For those with difficulty swallowing, the contents can be mixed with a spoonful of applesauce and swallowed without chewing.

- Increased effects: Diazepam, phenytoin, methotrexate, clarithromycin
