Mometasone is used for:
- Allergic rhinitis (seasonal or perennial)
- Nasal polyps
- Asthma prophylaxis (prevention, not for acute attacks)
If you forget a dose of Metamist use it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, take it in the regular schedule instead of taking the missed dose. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one, as this may increase the chances of developing side effects.

✔️ Dosage & Administration | Metamist
- Initial dose: 100 mcg (2 sprays) in each nostril once daily
- If needed: May increase to 200 mcg in each nostril once daily
- Maintenance dose: 50 mcg (1 spray) in each nostril once daily
- For seasonal allergic rhinitis, preventive use is recommended 2–4 weeks before pollen season.
Always use Metamist as directed by your physician. It is for intranasal use only. Shake well before each use. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight ,and disease condition. Check the label for directions for use.

Increased risk of low potassium with amphotericin B or diuretics
Reduced effectiveness of antidiabetic medications
Increased steroid levels with azole antifungals
Higher risk of tendon injury with fluoroquinolone antibiotics

- Respiratory infections (fungal, bacterial, viral, parasitic)
- Ocular herpes simplex
- Nasal septum perforation or frequent nosebleeds
- Glaucoma, cataracts, or raised intraocular pressure
- Growth delay in children
- History of long-term steroid use (risk of adrenal suppression)
- Avoid abrupt withdrawal if switching from oral steroids.
