Before application, the skin should be clean, cool, and completely dry.
Use in young children should be undertaken only according to medical advice.

Arotrix-C Lotion contains Permethrin and Crotamiton.
Permethrin is a photostable synthetic pyrethroid with broad-spectrum insecticidal activity and relatively low toxicity in mammals. It acts primarily on the nervous system of mites and insects by affecting sodium channels in nerve cell membranes. This prolongs sodium permeability and causes abnormal nerve activity, leading to sensory hyperexcitability, paralysis, and eventual death of the mite.
Crotamiton is a topical antipruritic agent with activity against scabies mites. It also helps relieve itching associated with certain skin conditions.
Permethrin is administered topically. Systemic absorption through intact skin is low, with less than 0.5% of an applied dose reported to be absorbed during the first 48 hours. Absorbed permethrin is rapidly metabolized, mainly through ester hydrolysis, and its metabolites are primarily eliminated in the urine.
Crotamiton penetrates the skin rapidly. Small measurable concentrations may be detected in plasma several hours after topical application and generally decline thereafter.
Concomitant use of topical corticosteroids for eczema-like skin reactions should be discussed with a healthcare professional before treatment. Corticosteroids may suppress local immune responses and can potentially mask or alter the appearance of scabies.
Inform your doctor about all topical and oral medicines you are using.
There is limited information regarding the safety of the combination of Permethrin and Crotamiton during pregnancy. Pregnant women should consult their healthcare provider before using this medicine, particularly during early pregnancy.
It is not known whether sufficient amounts of the active ingredients pass into breast milk to affect a breastfed infant. Breastfeeding mothers should consult a healthcare professional before use.
Avoid applying the lotion directly to the nipple or surrounding area before breastfeeding.
