✅ Description:
Permisol Max is a combination of Permethrin and Crotamiton.
Permethrin is a stable synthetic pyrethroid with a wide range of insecticidal action and minimal toxicity in humans.
Crotamiton is effective for treating scabies and also relieves itchiness in various skin conditions.
- Permethrin enters insects through ingestion, inhalation, or skin contact. It mainly targets their nervous system by affecting sodium channels, leading to a prolonged depolarization phase. This causes nerve overstimulation, followed by loss of coordination and paralysis. A similar mechanism works against mites.
- Permethrin is applied topically. Less than 0.5% is absorbed in the first 48 hours. It undergoes metabolism (likely in the liver) and is excreted in urine.
Crotamiton penetrates the skin quickly. It shows low but measurable levels in plasma, peaking in 4–10 hours, and then quickly declining.

✔️ Dosage & Administration: Permisol Max
Adults (including elderly):
- After a warm bath and drying the skin, apply Permisol Max over the entire body (excluding face and scalp), massaging until absorbed.
- Repeat once daily, preferably in the evening, for 3 to 5 days.
- Extra care should be given to interdigital spaces, wrists, underarms, and genital area.
- In case of pus or lesions, cover the area with gauze soaked in the lotion.
- During treatment, the patient may bathe before each application. After the course is complete, take a full cleansing bath and change clothes and bedding.
Children:
- Same method as adults.
- For children under 2 years, do not apply more than once daily.

- Ensure skin is clean, cool, and dry before applying.
- For adults and children over 2 years: Apply from the neck to the feet, ensuring full coverage, including between the toes/fingers, under the nails, and on the soles.
- For infants under 2 years: Apply to face, ears, scalp, and neck (avoid eyes and mouth).
- Leave on for at least 8 hours before washing off. Reapply to any area that gets washed during this period.
- Can be used in patients older than 2 months.
- As scabies is contagious, all close contacts should be treated simultaneously as a preventive measure.

Some users may feel burning, stinging, or tingling shortly after application. Other temporary effects like redness, swelling, rash, or eczema may occur but are often part of the body’s reaction to the scabies infection itself.
✔️ Pregnancy & Breastfeeding:
Not recommended during pregnancy, especially the first trimester, due to limited safety data.
Unknown whether it passes into breast milk; avoid application to the nipple area while nursing.

Avoid eye contact; rinse immediately if it occurs.
