✔️ Uses

Flamex 200 is indicated for managing a wide range of painful and inflammatory conditions, including:

• Rheumatoid arthritis
• Osteoarthritis
• Gouty arthritis
• Juvenile idiopathic arthritis
• Ankylosing spondylitis
• Synovitis
• Low back pain
• Dysmenorrhea (painful periods)
• Fever
• Migraine
• Soft tissue injuries
• Pain and inflammation of dental or musculoskeletal origin

✔️ Dosage & Administration

Adult Dosage

Pain, Fever, Dysmenorrhea:
200–400 mg orally every 4–6 hours; maximum 1.2 g/day unless otherwise directed by a physician

Inflammatory Conditions:
400–800 mg every 6–8 hours; maximum 3.2 g/day

Arthritis (Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis):
300 mg, 400 mg, 600 mg, or 800 mg every 6–8 hours; not to exceed 3.2 g/day

Severe Hepatic Impairment: Avoid use

Pediatric Dosage

Fever (6 months–12 years):
5–10 mg/kg per dose every 6–8 hours; maximum 40 mg/kg/day

Pain:
4–10 mg/kg per dose every 6–8 hours; maximum 40 mg/kg/day

Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis:
30–50 mg/kg/day divided into doses every 8 hours; maximum 2.4 g/day

Renal Impairment

In patients with significantly impaired renal function, monitor closely. Dose adjustment may be required.

✔️ Common Side Effects

• Stomach upset
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Heartburn

✔️ Drug Interactions

Increased risk of GI bleeding when taken with:
Warfarin, corticosteroids, SSRIs, and aspirin

Reduced effect of:
Diuretics, ACE inhibitors, angiotensin II receptor blockers

May increase the toxicity of:
Methotrexate, lithium

Risk of nephrotoxicity when combined with:
Ciclosporin, tacrolimus

✔️ Contraindications

• Known hypersensitivity to ibuprofen or other NSAIDs
• Active or severe peptic ulcer disease

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

• Pregnancy Category C (D in the third trimester): Avoid use after 30 weeks of gestation due to the risk of premature ductus arteriosus closure.
• Use only if needed during pregnancy and avoid near delivery.

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

• Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary.
• Use with caution in patients with a history of ulcers or GI bleeding.
• Long-term therapy may require eye examinations due to potential visual disturbances.
• Patients with asthma, SLE (lupus), or a history of hypersensitivity to NSAIDs should be closely monitored.
