How does Zoladex 3.6 Injection work?

Zoladex 3.6 Injection is a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analog. In men, it works by reducing the amount of testosterone (hormone) that is produced by the body. In women, it works by reducing the amount of estrogen (hormone). LHRH agonists work by telling the pituitary gland located in the brain to stop producing luteinizing hormone, which stimulates the testicles to release testosterone in men and stimulates the ovaries to release estrogen in women.

Pharmacology

Zoladex injection contains goserelin. Dosage & Administration of Zoladex 3.6 Injection

Zoladex 3.6 Injection will be injected by your doctor or nurse under the skin on your stomach every four weeks (28 days).

• The implant will be injected after every couple of days by the doctor or a nurse
• Do not inject it yourself
• Take the treatment as long as the doctor prescribes
• You should remind your doctor or nurse of the next appointment
• If it has been more than 28 days since your previous injection, make an appointment with your doctor right away
• Keep taking the injection even if you feel well after taking it

Interaction

Inform your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription or the following,

• Anticonvulsants (used for epilepsy or fits)
• Corticosteroids
• Quinidine, procainamide, amiodarone and sotalol (used to treat heart problems)
• Methadone (used for pain relief and addiction detoxification)
• Moxifloxacin (an antibiotic)
• Antipsychotics (used for serious mental illnesses)
• Oral contraceptives

Pregnancy & Lactation

Due to the risk of harm to the growing baby or abortion, this injection is not advised for use in pregnant women.

Precautions & Warnings

Consult your doctor if
