Post-menopause is a condition in which women have not had a period for 12 months or more. During menopause, estrogen levels decrease, leading to hot flushes (feeling of heat over the face, neck, and chest). Women with menopause are at risk of developing osteoporosis (thinning of bones). Femoston 1/5 Combipack Tablet can be used to prevent osteoporosis after menopause. Osteoporosis is a bone disease that weakens and thins bones by decreasing bone density, which is common in post-menopausal women.
Femoston 1/5 Combipack Tablet contains two female hormones, Estradiol and Dydrogesterone. Estradiol works by replacing the falling levels of estrogen in the body and thus helps to reduce menopause symptoms. Dydrogesterone works by reducing the overgrowth of the womb lining. Together, Femoston 1/5 Combipack Tablet helps treat postmenopausal symptoms and osteoporosis.
Femoston 1/5 Tablet contains two active components:
Dydrogesterone (5 mg):
A synthetic progestogen that mimics natural progesterone. In hormone replacement therapy, it protects the uterine lining from excessive estrogen stimulation, thereby reducing the risk of endometrial hyperplasia and cancer.Estradiol (1 mg):
A form of estrogenthat replaces declining hormone levels during menopause, helping to relieve menopausal symptoms while supporting bone density, skin health, and vaginal tissues.
Avoid alcohol while taking Femoston 1/5 Tablet, as it may increase the risk of adverse effects.
