Ulipristal Acetate is a synthetic, orally active SPRM that binds with high affinity to human progesterone receptors. Its primary mechanism of action is the delay or inhibition of ovulation. Clinical data demonstrate that even when taken close to the time of ovulation, Ulipristal Acetate can postpone follicular rupture in some women, thereby reducing the likelihood of pregnancy.
