✅ Description:
Uliroid contains Ulipristal acetate, a selective progesterone receptor modulator (SPRM). It works by blocking the action of progesterone, a hormone that contributes to fibroid growth and thickening of the uterine lining.
By inhibiting progesterone activity, Uliroid causes fibroid cells to stop dividing and gradually die, resulting in reduced fibroid size and relief from related symptoms such as heavy bleeding and pelvic discomfort.

Pregnancy

✔️ Uses | Uliroid
Uliroid is indicated for the preoperative management of moderate to severe symptoms of uterine fibroids, which are noncancerous (benign) growths in the uterus. It is intended for use in adult women before menopause to help control symptoms such as heavy menstrual bleeding, anemia, and pelvic pain.
✔️ Pharmacology
- Endometrial thickening

- Uterine bleeding or spotting
✔️ Dosage & Administration of Uliroid
Recommended dose: One tablet (5 mg) daily, taken orally for up to 3 months.
Treatment can be repeated once, following a doctor’s recommendation.
Therapy should begin within the first week of the menstrual cycle.
Hepatic Impairment: Not recommended for patients with severe liver dysfunction unless closely monitored.
Renal Impairment: No significant effect expected, but avoid use in moderate to severe renal impairment without monitoring.
✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnancy Category X: Contraindicated during pregnancy.
Ulipristal acetate is excreted in breast milk and should not be used during lactation.
✔️ Uliroid is contraindicated in women with:
- Known hypersensitivity to Ulipristal acetate or any excipient.
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Unexplained genital bleeding not caused by fibroids.
- Cancers of the uterus, cervix, ovaries, or breast.
✔️ Precautions & Warnings
- Confirm absence of pregnancy before starting therapy.
- Avoid using hormonal contraceptives (e.g., progestin-only pills, IUDs, combined oral contraceptives) during treatment. Use non-hormonal contraception instead.
- Uliroid may cause endometrial thickening that typically resolves after discontinuation. Persistent thickening beyond 3 months post-treatment should be evaluated.
- Significant reduction in menstrual bleeding or temporary amenorrhea usually occurs within 10 days of initiation. If heavy bleeding continues, consult a physician.
- Not recommended for patients with severe, uncontrolled asthma.
