✔️ Overdose Effects
  • Symptoms: Postural hypotension is the primary adverse event in overdose.
  • Management: If hypotension occurs, maintain the patient in a supine position, and administer intravenous fluids if necessary. Vasopressors may be used if required. Dialysis is unlikely to be beneficial since Siloflo is highly protein-bound (97%).
✔️ Dosage & Administration
  • Recommended dose: Silodosin 8 mg orally once daily with a meal.
  • For patients with moderate renal impairment (CrCl 30-50 mL/min): 4 mg orally once daily with a meal.
Follow the dosage recommendations provided by your healthcare provider.
  • Pediatric use: Not indicated for pediatric patients.
  • Geriatric use: No significant safety or effectiveness differences were found between younger and older patients, though older patients may experience a slightly higher incidence of orthostatic hypotension.
  • Renal impairment: Contraindicated in severe renal impairment (CCr <30 mL/min). For moderate impairment (CCr 30-50 mL/min), reduce the dose to 4 mg once daily. No adjustment is needed for mild renal impairment (CCr 50-80 mL/min).
  • Hepatic impairment: Contraindicated in severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh score >10). No adjustment for mild to moderate hepatic impairment.
