Siloflo (Silodosin) is indicated for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It is not indicated for the treatment of hypertension.

✔️ Overdose Effects
- Symptoms: Postural hypotension is the primary adverse event in overdose.
- Management: If hypotension occurs, maintain the patient in a supine position, and administer intravenous fluids if necessary. Vasopressors may be used if required. Dialysis is unlikely to be beneficial since Siloflo is highly protein-bound (97%).

- Recommended dose: Silodosin 8 mg orally once daily with a meal.
- For patients with moderate renal impairment (CrCl 30-50 mL/min): 4 mg orally once daily with a meal.
Follow the dosage recommendations provided by your healthcare provider. - Pediatric use: Not indicated for pediatric patients.
- Geriatric use: No significant safety or effectiveness differences were found between younger and older patients, though older patients may experience a slightly higher incidence of orthostatic hypotension.
- Renal impairment: Contraindicated in severe renal impairment (CCr <30 mL/min). For moderate impairment (CCr 30-50 mL/min), reduce the dose to 4 mg once daily. No adjustment is needed for mild renal impairment (CCr 50-80 mL/min).
- Hepatic impairment: Contraindicated in severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh score >10). No adjustment for mild to moderate hepatic impairment.

- Severe renal or hepatic impairment.
- Concomitant use with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole, clarithromycin, itraconazole, ritonavir).
- History of hypersensitivity to Silodosin.

- Strong P-glycoprotein inhibitors (e.g., cyclosporine) may increase the plasma concentration of Siloflo.
- Concomitant use of PDE5 inhibitors and alpha-blockers may cause symptomatic hypotension.

- Postural hypotension may occur when starting treatment.
- Not for use with other alpha-blockers.
- Intraoperative Floppy Iris Syndrome (IFIS) may occur during cataract surgery, so inform your ophthalmologist if you are taking Siloflo.
