Emparol L 10/5 Tablet

✔️ Do not use Emparol-L if you have:

• Severe renal impairment, end-stage renal disease, or are receiving dialysis.
• A history of serious hypersensitivity to Linagliptin (including anaphylaxis, angioedema, urticaria, exfoliative skin reactions, or bronchial hyperreactivity).
• A history of severe allergic reactions to Empagliflozin.

✔️ Side Effects

• Pancreatitis
• Diabetic ketoacidosis
• Dehydration (volume depletion)
• Severe urinary tract infections, including urosepsis and pyelonephritis
• Hypoglycemia (especially when used with insulin or insulin secretagogues)
• Fournier's gangrene (necrotizing fasciitis of the perineum)
• Genital fungal infections
• Severe allergic reactions
• Severe joint pain
• Bullous pemphigoid
• Heart failure

✔️ Drug Interactions

• Diuretics: May increase urine output and the risk of dehydration or low blood pressure.
• Insulin or insulin secretagogues (e.g., sulfonylureas): May increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
• Strong P-glycoprotein (P-gp) or CYP3A4 inducers (e.g., Rifampin): May reduce the effectiveness of Linagliptin.
• Urine glucose tests: SGLT2 inhibitors increase urinary glucose excretion, leading to positive urine glucose results.
• 1,5-Anhydroglucitol (1,5-AG) assay: Results may be unreliable while taking SGLT2 inhibitors.

✔️ Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

• Use during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy is not recommended.
• Available data in pregnant women are limited and insufficient to determine the safety of the medicine.
• Poorly controlled diabetes during pregnancy also poses risks to both the mother and fetus.
• Consult your healthcare provider before using this medicine during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

✔️ Use Emparol-L with caution in patients with:

• Previous or current pancreatitis
• Low blood pressure or dehydration
• Diabetic ketoacidosis
• Kidney disease or impaired renal function
• Severe urinary tract infections
• Risk of hypoglycemia when combined with insulin or sulfonylureas
• Recurrent genital fungal infections
• History of serious allergic reactions
• Severe joint pain
• Bullous pemphigoid
• Heart failure

Seek immediate medical attention if you develop symptoms such as severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, difficulty breathing, signs of dehydration, painful urination with fever, or severe genital pain or swelling.

✔️ Storage:

Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
