For individuals with type 2 diabetes who already have cardiovascular disease, Tiptengio 10mg/5mg Tablet also plays a role in reducing the risk of mortality from cardiovascular events.
Consistent use of this medication, in conjunction with a proper diet and regular exercise regimen, is essential for maintaining a normal and healthy life. It's important to adhere to the prescribed dosage and continue using the medication for as long as recommended by your healthcare provider, as it serves to protect your future health and well-being.
It is advisable to avoid alcohol consumption while taking Empalina 10/5mg Tablet as it may increase the risk of unwanted side effects. Consult your doctor for personalized advice.

Treatment of Type 2 diabetes mellitus
Empalina 10/5mg Tablet is a combination of two antidiabetic medicines: Empagliflozin and Linagliptin. Empagliflozin works by removing excess glucose from your body through urine. Linagliptin works by lowering glucose production in the liver, delaying glucose absorption from the intestines, and increasing the body's sensitivity to insulin.
Common adverse reactions include hypoglycemia, pancreatitis (rare), and genital mycotic infections. Monitoring is essential to detect and manage these adverse effects.
Empagliflozin, an inhibitor of SGLT2, reduces renal reabsorption of filtered glucose, increasing urinary glucose excretion. Linagliptin inhibits DPP-4, increasing active incretin hormones, stimulating insulin release, and reducing glucagon levels, thus regulating glucose homeostasis.
The dose of Linagliptin is 5mg once daily. Adjustments may be needed when used in combination with other antidiabetic medications or in patients with renal or hepatic impairment. It can be taken with or without food at any time of the day.
In the event of an overdose, employ supportive measures, monitor clinically, and initiate appropriate treatment.
Linagliptin has a low propensity for clinically meaningful interactions with other drugs such as metformin, sulphonylureas, statins, anticoagulants, and oral contraceptives.
Hypersensitivity to Linagliptin or any excipients is contraindicated.
The use of Linagliptin in pregnancy is not recommended, and caution is advised during lactation. The decision should consider the benefit of therapy versus the risk to the child.
Monitor for pancreatitis, hypotension, renal function, hypoglycemia, genital mycotic infections, urinary tract infections, hypersensitivity reactions, and increased LDL-C. There's no conclusive evidence of macrovascular risk reduction with Linagliptin.
Store below 30°C, away from light and moisture, and out of reach of children.
