Betamethasone Dipropionate + Salicylic Acid is used to alleviate swelling, itching, redness, and dead skin cells caused by skin conditions such as psoriasis (scaly, itchy, dry patches) and eczema (itchy, cracked, swollen, or rough skin). Skin swelling occurs when an allergic reaction or irritation releases substances that dilate blood vessels, leading to itching, redness, pain, and swelling in the affected area.
Betamethasone Dipropionate + Salicylic Acid contains Betamethasone (a steroid) and Salicylic Acid (an anti-inflammatory/keratolytic agent). These ingredients work together to reduce the production of inflammatory chemicals in the body, thereby inhibiting the natural immune response and helping to control swelling and inflammation. Typically, such chemicals are released when the skin reacts to allergens. Salicylic Acid, a keratolytic agent, breaks down a protein called keratin (a component of skin structure), removes dead skin cells, and softens the skin, enhancing the absorption of Betamethasone into the skin.
Betamethasone Dipropionate + Salicylic Acid is intended for external use only. Apply a small amount to the affected area as a thin layer on clean, dry skin. Avoid contact with the nose, mouth, or eyes. If accidental contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water. Some people may experience side effects such as a skin rash, inflammation of hair follicles, blistering, itching, swelling, or a stinging or burning sensation at the application site. Most side effects do not require medical attention and resolve over time. However, consult your doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.
If you are allergic to Betamethasone Dipropionate + Salicylic Acid or any other medicines, inform your doctor. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding before using Betamethasone Dipropionate + Salicylic Acid. Do not use this medication in larger doses, on extensive areas of the body, or for prolonged periods, as it may alter hormone levels. Do not cover the treated area with plasters or bandages. Avoid using Betamethasone Dipropionate + Salicylic Acid in the face or for more than five days in children.
Avoid smoking or being near open flames, as fabric (bedding, clothing, dressings) in contact with Betamethasone Dipropionate + Salicylic Acid can catch fire and burn rapidly. Inform your doctor if you have rosacea, psoriasis, acne, dermatitis around the mouth, chickenpox, cold sores, nappy rash, genital itching, or other skin problems, as well as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetes, or issues with the adrenal glands, liver, or blood circulation before using Betamethasone Dipropionate + Salicylic Acid.

Betamethasone prevents and controls inflammation by controlling the rate of protein synthesis, depressing the migration of polymorphonuclear leukocytes and fibroblasts, and reversing capillary permeability and lysosomal stabilization.
Salicylic Acid is a keratolytic medicine that breaks down keratin clumps, removes dead skin cells, and softens the skin. It also enhances the absorption of Clobetasol into the skin.
Betamethasone Dipropionate is a glucocorticoid with anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects, while Salicylic Acid has keratolytic properties, making it effective for treating hyperkeratotic conditions. The keratolytic action of Salicylic Acid facilitates the penetration of corticosteroids. Betamethasone Dipropionate effectively treats dermatoses due to its anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive properties.
