✅ Description:
Tacromus 0.5 mg Capsule is an immunosuppressant medication used to help the body accept a transplanted organ, such as a heart, kidney, or liver, by reducing the immune system’s activity.
It can be taken orally with or without food, though consistent use with or without meals is important to ensure proper absorption. If taken with food due to stomach upset, absorption may be slightly reduced.
Dosage is determined by the patient’s weight, overall health, blood test results, and response to treatment. Do not stop or change the dose without consulting your doctor.
Common side effects may include appetite loss, headache, sleep disturbances, diarrhea, and tingling in the hands or feet. Serious side effects can include kidney issues, irregular heartbeat, severe stomach pain, dizziness, or, rarely, brain infections. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience extreme weakness, concentration difficulties, seizures, vision problems, or muscle mobility issues.

Tacromus 0.5 is used to reduce the immune response of the body in organ transplant patients.
✔️ Managing side effects:
- Nausea or vomiting: small, frequent meals and good oral care.
- Diarrhea: yogurt, buttermilk, or boiled milk may help.
- Constipation: increase fluids, fiber, or exercise; consult your doctor if persistent.
- Muscle or back pain: mild pain relievers may help.

- Cyclosporine is associated with synergistic immunosuppression and increased nephrotoxicity.
- Increased toxicity: Nephrotoxic antibiotics, NSAIDs, and amphotericin B potentially increase nephrotoxicity.
- Drugs which may increase tacrolimus blood levels:
- Calcium channel blockers: Diltiazem, nicardipine, verapamil.
- Antibiotic/antifungal agents: Clotrimazole, erythromycin, fluconazole, itraconazole, ketoconazole.
- Other drugs: Bromocriptine, cimetidine, clarithromycin, cyclosporine, danazol, methylprednisolone, metoclopramide, grapefruit juice.
- Drugs that may decrease tacrolimus blood levels:
- Anticonvulsants: Carbamazepine, phenobarbital, phenytoin.
- Antibiotics: Rifabutin, rifampin
