✔️ Common side effects may include:

• Upset stomach, diarrhea, constipation, vomiting
• Dry mouth, loss of appetite, weight changes
• Drowsiness, dizziness, headache
• Pain, burning, or tingling sensations in hands or feet
• Excitement, sore throat

✔️ Dosage & Administration

Adults:

• Major depressive disorder (MDD):
  • Starting Dose: 50 mg
  • Therapeutic Range: 50-200 mg
• Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD):
  • Starting Dose: 50 mg
  • Therapeutic Range: 50-200 mg
• Panic disorder (PD), PTSD, and Social anxiety disorder (SAD):
  • Starting Dose: 25 mg
  • Therapeutic Range: 50-200 mg

Pediatric Patients (6-12 years old) - OCD:

• Starting Dose: 25 mg
• Therapeutic Range: 50-200 mg
• Dose changes should occur at intervals of at least one week.

Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD):

• Starting Dose: 50 mg/day
• Continuous dosing: Administered daily throughout the menstrual cycle. If 50 mg is ineffective, the dose may be increased by 50 mg per cycle, up to 150 mg/day.
• Intermittent dosing: Administered daily starting 14 days before menstruation and continued until the onset of menses. If 50 mg is ineffective, the dose may be increased up to 100 mg/day in subsequent cycles.

✔️ Drug Interactions

• Plasma protein-bound drugs: Serolux may interact with tightly bound plasma protein drugs like warfarin and digitoxin, potentially altering their effects.
• CNS-active drugs: Possible interactions with drugs like Diazepam.
• Other medications: May interact with Cimetidine, hypoglycemic drugs, Atenolol, and others.

✔️ Contraindications

• Not for use in patients with known hypersensitivity to Sertraline or its excipients.
• Not recommended for patients with moderate to severe liver impairment.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

• Animal studies show no evidence of teratogenicity, but safety in human pregnancy is not established.
• Sertraline is excreted in breast milk; its effects on infants are unknown. If necessary, discontinuing breastfeeding should be considered.

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

• Use with caution in patients with liver disease, kidney disease, seizures, heart problems, or allergies.
• May cause dizziness or drowsiness—avoid activities requiring alertness (e.g., driving, operating machinery).
• Elderly patients may be more sensitive to Sertraline’s effects.
• Do not take Serolux if you have used monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) in the past five weeks.
• Risk of suicidal thoughts and behavioral changes may occur, requiring close monitoring in the first 2-3 weeks of treatment.
