Rosuvastatin belongs to a class of medications called statins, which work by blocking the enzyme responsible for cholesterol production in the liver. It is indicated for the treatment of high levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, also known as "bad" cholesterol, as well as to lower triglyceride levels and raise high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol levels.
Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Rosuva 5. Please consult your doctor.
Rosuva 5 is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Seek your doctor's advice as studies on pregnant women and animals have shown significant harmful effects on the developing baby.
Rosuva 5 is unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Data suggests that the drug may cause toxicity to the baby.
Rosuva 5 should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. A dose adjustment of Rosuva 5 may be needed. Please consult your doctor. The use of Rosuva 5 is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
Rosuva 5 should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. A dose adjustment of Rosuva 5 may be needed. Please consult your doctor. The use of Rosuva 5 is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.
Rosuvastatin is an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor that is both selective and competitive. The rate-limiting enzyme in the conversion of 3-hydroxy methyl glutaryl-CoA to mevalonate is HMG-CoA reductase (the precursor of cholesterol). Rosuvastatin exerts its lipid-modifying effect in two ways. First, it increases the number of liver low-density lipoprotein receptors on the cell surface, which improves low-density lipoprotein absorption and catabolism. Second, rosuvastatin reduces the total number of VLDL and LDL particles by inhibiting VLDL synthesis in the liver.

Renal Dose
The dosage of rosuvastatin varies depending on the individual's medical condition and response to treatment. The recommended starting dose for most adults is usually 5 to 10 mg once daily, taken at any time of the day, with or without food.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Rosuva 5 may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Rosuva 5 is a lipid-lowering medication (statin). It works by blocking an enzyme (HMG-CoA-reductase) that is required by the body to make cholesterol, thereby lowering "bad" cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides and raising "good" cholesterol (HDL).
If you miss a dose of Rosuva 5, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not take two doses within 12 hours.
If you take too much rosuvastatin or overdose, call your doctor or go to the nearest hospital emergency room right away.
Warfarin and oral contraceptives may cause an increase in serum levels. Itraconazole and HIV protease inhibitors may raise serum levels. Erythromycin and antacids may lower serum levels. Fenofibrate and niacin may increase the risk of myopathy. Potentially fatal: Gemfibrozil and ciclosporin increase the risk of rhabdomyolysis
It is known to be allergic to product ingredients, ban rosuvastatin Liver disease, which may include persistent and unexplained elevated liver transaminase levels Pregnant women and women who may become pregnant Nursing mothers
The safety of women has not been established during pregnant women. Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. Medicines like rosuvastatin can pass into your breast milk and may harm your baby. Talk to your doctor about the best way to feed your baby if you take this medication.
Effects on skeletal muscle (eg, myopathy and rhabdomyolysis): risk increases with the use of 40 mg doses, advanced age (> 65 years), hypothyroidism, renal failure, and interactions with cyclosporine, lopinavir/tritone Weir, atazanavir/ritonavir, or some Other lipid-lowering drugs are used in combination. Patients should be advised to report unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness early. If signs or symptoms appear, rosuvastatin can be stopped.
Abnormal liver enzymes and monitoring: Continuous elevation of liver transaminases may occur. Liver enzymes should be monitored before and during treatment.
