Gavisus Chewable Tablet

✔️ Gavisus is indicated for the relief of:

• Gastric reflux (acid reflux)
• Heartburn
• Indigestion
• Flatulence associated with gastric reflux
• Heartburn during pregnancy
• Epigastric and retrosternal discomfort caused by gastric reflux

Always use this medication as advised by a registered healthcare professional.

✔️ Chewable Tablets

• Chew thoroughly before swallowing.

Adults and children 12 years and older

• 2–4 tablets after meals and at bedtime
• Up to 4 times daily

Children under 12 years

• Use only under medical supervision

Hepatic impairment

• No dose adjustment required

Renal impairment

• Use with caution in patients requiring a strict low-sodium diet

✔️ To minimize interactions, allow at least a 2-hour gap between Gavisus and other medications, including:

• Tetracyclines
• Digoxin
• Fluoroquinolones
• Iron supplements
• Ketoconazole
• Thyroid hormones
• Penicillamine
• Beta-blockers (atenolol, metoprolol, propranolol)
• Glucocorticoids
• Chloroquine
• Bisphosphonates
• Estramustine
• Certain antipsychotic medications

Consult your healthcare provider before combining Gavisus with other medicines.

✔️ Side Effects:

• Constipation
• Flatulence
• Stomach cramps
• Belching

✔️ Do not use Gavisus if you have:

• Known allergy or hypersensitivity to sodium alginate, calcium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, or any other ingredient in the formulation

✔️ Use During Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Pregnancy

Clinical experience involving more than 500 pregnant women has not shown evidence of harm to the mother or baby. Gavisus may be used during pregnancy when clinically indicated.

Breastfeeding

The active ingredients are not known to have harmful effects on breastfed infants. Gavisus can be used during breastfeeding if needed.

Fertility

Available data suggest that sodium alginate does not negatively affect fertility or reproductive health.

✔️ Use Gavisus with caution if you have:

• Congestive heart failure
• Kidney impairment
• Hypercalcemia
• Nephrocalcinosis
• Recurrent calcium-containing kidney stones

✔️ Additional considerations:

• Each 20 mL dose contains approximately 254.5 mg of sodium and 260 mg of calcium.
• Each chewable tablet contains approximately 75 mg of calcium.
• Patients following a strict low-sodium diet should seek medical advice before use.
• Individuals with phenylketonuria should avoid the tablet formulation containing aspartame.
• Treatment for longer than 7 consecutive days should be undertaken only under medical supervision.
• Persistent symptoms may indicate a more serious underlying condition and should be medically evaluated.
• Not recommended in patients with severe renal insufficiency or hypophosphatemia unless advised by a physician.

✔️ Storage:

• Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place.
• Protect from direct light.
• Do not refrigerate or freeze.
• Keep out of reach of children.
