How Finix 20mg Tablet works?

Proton pump inhibitor Finix 20mg Tablet. By inhibiting the operations of an enzyme called H+ K+ ATPase (also known as the proton pump), which is located in the lining of the stomach walls, it lowers the amount of acid generated in the stomach. Indication of Finix 20mg Tablet

Finix 20 lowers the amount of acid your stomach produces. It is used to treat illnesses of the stomach and intestine caused by excessive acid production, including heartburn, acid reflux, peptic ulcer disease, and various other conditions of the stomach. Additionally, Finix 20 is used to avoid the acidity and stomach ulcers that may result from using painkillers for an extended period of time. It is a member of the proton pump inhibitors class of drugs (PPIs). Preferably in the morning, this medication should be taken one hour before a meal. Pharmacology

By blocking the gastric H+/K+-ATPase at the secretory surface of the gastric parietal cell, Finix 20 reduces gastric acid secretion. Rabeprazole has been referred to as a gastric proton pump inhibitor since this enzyme is thought to be the acid (proton) pump within the parietal cell.

Dosage & Administration of Finix 20mg Tablet

Adults and seniors

• Active Duodenal Ulcer and Active Benign Gastric Ulcer: A 20 mg oral dose, administered once daily in the morning, is advised for both active duodenal ulcer and active benign gastric ulcer.
• When a duodenal ulcer is active, most patients recover within four weeks. A few individuals, meanwhile, could need an additional four weeks of therapy to recover. With active benign stomach ulcers, the majority of patients recover within six weeks. But once more, some patients might need an extra six weeks of therapy to recover.
• Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease (GORD) with Erosive or Ulcerative Complications: The suggested oral dose for this condition is 20 mg, taken once a day for four to eight weeks.
• No dosage adjustment is necessary for patients with renal or hepatic impairment.

Use in Pediatric Patients: 

• The safety and effectiveness of Finix in pediatric patients have not been established.

Interaction

A pain reliever (aspirin, naproxen), an antidepressant (duloxetine, amitriptyline), a blood thinner (clopidogrel), a medication used to treat hypothyroidism (levothyroxine), an anti-HIV drug (atazanavir), an antifungal (ketoconazole, itraconazole), an anti-cancer drug (methotrexate), a vitamin (cyanocobalamin (such as diazepam or zolpidem).

Avoid using tobacco and drinking alcohol. Alcohol use increases stomach acid production, which in turn increases acidity and heartburn.

Inform your doctor if you have liver illness, bone fractures, hypomagnesemia, or diarrhea caused by Clostridium difficile. (low levels of magnesium).

Contraindications

Rabeprazole is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Rabeprazole, other PPIs, or to any component of the formulation.

Pregnancy & Lactation

FDA pregnancy category "C" in the US. Studies on animals have shown no evidence that the drug Rabeprazole interferes with fruit ripening or harms the embryo. However, pregnant women do not have any satisfying or well-controlled thoughts. Given that rabeprazole is likely to be excreted in the brain, a decision should be taken on whether to stop breastfeeding or stop the sedative, taking into account the importance of the sedative to the mother.

Precautions & Warnings
