It has a weak anti-inflammatory effect and is believed to work primarily in the central nervous system (CNS) by raising the pain threshold. Paracetamol accomplishes this by inhibiting the activity of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, specifically COX-1, COX-2, and COX-3, which are involved in the synthesis of prostaglandins (PG). Paracetamol is a derivative of para-aminophenol and is one of the most commonly used, safe, and effective painkillers. It is well-tolerated and has fewer side effects than other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen.

The recommended dosage for Extended Release Tablet is two tablets, to be swallowed whole, every 6 to 8 hours for adults and children over 12 years old. It is important not to exceed a maximum of 6 tablets within any 24-hour period, and the tablets should not be crushed.
