Nitoxin contains nitazoxanide, an antiparasitic medicine used to treat certain intestinal infections caused by protozoa, including:
- Giardiasis
- Cryptosporidiosis
It may be prescribed for other susceptible parasitic infections when considered appropriate by a healthcare professional.
Swallow tablets according to the product instructions. If swallowing is difficult, ask a pharmacist whether the specific tablet can be crushed or chewed. Do not double the next dose if one is missed.
Possible side effects include:
