Minomal R 350mg Tablet is indicated for the treatment and prevention of bronchospasm associated with asthma, emphysema, and chronic bronchitis. It is also used for treating adult cardiac asthma, left ventricular asthma, and congestive heart failure.
Minomal R 350mg Tablet contains aminophylline, a combination of theophylline and ethylenediamine. Theophylline relaxes bronchial smooth muscles by increasing intracellular cAMP levels through inhibiting phosphodiesterase, antagonizing adenosine receptors, antagonizing prostaglandins, and affecting intracellular calcium.
Use caution in patients with peptic ulcers, hyperthyroidism, high blood pressure, arrhythmias, cardiovascular diseases, or epilepsy, as these conditions may worsen. Caution is also advised in patients with heart failure, liver dysfunction, chronic alcoholism, acute febrile illness, newborns, and the elderly, as these conditions may reduce the clearance rate of theophylline, leading to elevated serum concentrations.
Use caution when consuming alcohol with Minomal R. Consult your doctor for advice.
Minomal R may be unsafe during pregnancy due to limited human studies and harmful effects observed in animal studies. The doctor will weigh the benefits versus potential risks before prescribing.
Human studies suggest the drug does not pass into breast milk in significant amounts and is not harmful to the baby.
Minomal R does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Dose adjustment may be necessary; consult your doctor.
