Indications of Domin

A set of dyspeptic symptoms that is commonly accompanied by esophagitis, gastroesophageal reflux, and delayed stomach emptying:

Pharmacology

Dosage & Administration of Domin 10mg Tablet

Domin 10 mg tablet should be taken 15-30 minutes before meals and, if necessary, before retiring.

The Usual recommended oral dose of Domperidone is as follows:

Adults: 

• 10-20 mg (1-2 tablets or 10-20 ml suspension), every 6-8 hours daily. The maximum dose of Domperidone is 80 mg daily.

Children: 

• 2-4 ml suspension/10 kg body weight or 0.4-0.8 ml pediatric drops/10 kg body weight, every 6-8 hours daily.

In acute and sub-acute conditions (mainly in acute nausea and vomiting):

Adults:

• Every 6 to 8 hours, 20 mg (2 tablets or 20 ml suspension).

Children: 

• Every 6 to 8 hours throughout the day, 0.2 to 0.4 mg/kg (2-4 ml suspension/10 kg or 0.4 to 0.8 ml pediatric drops/10 kg) body weight. (In acute nausea and vomiting maximum period of treatment is 12 weeks).

By Rectum in Suppositories:

• Adults (30 mg to 60 mg every 4 to 8 hours), including the elderly.

Children: 

• For individuals weighing 10 to 25 kg, the daily maximum rectally administered dosage is 30 mg. If necessary, the dose may be spread out over the day.

Twelve weeks is the maximal treatment time.

In Dyspeptic Symptoms:

Adults: 

• 10-20 mg every 6 to 8 hours (1-2 tablets or 10 to 20 ml solution).

Children: 

• Every 6 to 8 hours throughout the day, 0.2 to 0.4 mg/kg (2-4 ml suspension/10 kg or 0.4 to 0.8 ml pediatric drops/10 kg) body weight.

Renal Dose

Renal impairment: 

• Mild to moderate: No dosage adjustment is needed. Severe: Reduce dose to 1-2 times daily w/ prolonged treatment.

Interaction of Domin 10 mg Tablet

The risk of the hypoprolactemic effects of bromocriptine may be reduced by Domin 10mg. Antimuscarinics and opioid analgesics may reduce Domperidone's impact on Gl function. When coupled with MAO (monoamine oxidase) inhibitors, dopamine should be used with care.

Contraindications

Domin 10mg should not be administered to those with a history of drug hypersensitivity or to neonates. If there is a possibility of gastrointestinal stimulation, such as bleeding, mechanical obstruction, or perforation, Domin 10mg should not be used. Additionally, those who have a prolactin-releasing pituitary tumor should avoid it. (prolactinoma).

Pregnancy & Lactation

• In most cases, domperidone is not advised during pregnancy. There isn't a lot of information available regarding using this medication while pregnant. Only situations when the expected therapeutic benefit justifies the use of Domperidone during pregnancy should be considered. Prior to using this medication, get medical guidance.
• Domperidone is often not advised if you are nursing a baby. This medication has been found in very small quantities in breast milk. It could have unfavorable negative effects on a breastfed baby's heart. Only if your doctor deems it plainly essential may Domperidone be taken while nursing. Precautiond & Warnings

• Due to the lack of safety and effectiveness evidence, Domin 10mg tablet is not advised for use in children under the age of 12 or who weigh less than 35 kg.
