Management of eczema and dermatitis

Relief of dry, itchy, and irritated skin conditions

Daily skin care as a soap and cleanser alternative for sensitive or problem skin

✔️ Pharmacology

IsoSoft Lotion contains both antimicrobial agents and emollients:

Antimicrobials:

Benzalkonium chloride and chlorhexidine hydrochloride help reduce bacteria on the skin that may worsen eczema and prevent secondary infection caused by scratching.

Emollients:

Liquid paraffin and isopropyl myristate moisturize, soften, and protect the skin by trapping moisture, restoring the skin’s barrier function, and reducing dryness and irritation caused by frequent washing or use of conventional soaps.

The lotion may be safely used alongside other emollients or prescribed treatments for dry skin disorders.

Dosage & Directions for Use

For all age groups (Adults, Children, and Elderly):

As a Leave-On Emollient

Apply the lotion to the affected areas of skin

Gently smooth into the skin without vigorous rubbing

Allow excess lotion to absorb naturally

Reapply as often as required

If another topical treatment is being used on the same area, apply the products alternately, allowing sufficient time between applications to prevent mixing.

As a Soap Substitute

Use instead of regular soap or shower gel

The product will not foam or lather

After washing or bathing, gently pat the skin dry with a soft towel

Pump Dispenser Use (500 ml bottle):

Turn the pump head anti-clockwise to unlock

Prime the pump by pressing several times before first use

Renal Dose

No dose adjustment required in patients with renal impairment

The ingredients have been widely used for many years without reported adverse effects. IsoSoft Lotion may be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding, although formal safety trials have not been conducted.

✔️ Side Effects

Most users tolerate IsoSoft Lotion well. Rarely reported reactions include:

• Redness, irritation, or itching at the application site
• Increased skin sensitivity, especially with excessive use in skin folds (e.g., groin or diaper area)

Seek urgent medical attention if signs of a serious allergic reaction occur, such as:

• Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
• Difficulty breathing or wheezing
• Severe rash or hives away from the application site
• Dizziness, fainting, or collapse

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

Do not use if you have previously experienced allergic reactions to chlorhexidine-containing products

Rare but serious allergic reactions may occur, including sudden drops in blood pressure or loss of consciousness

Fire hazard warning: Do not smoke or go near open flames after application. Fabrics in contact with the product may ignite more easily

Avoid contact with eyes, especially when applied to the face

Use caution in baths or showers, as the product may make surfaces slippery

For very sensitive skin, perform a patch test before widespread use

Cetostearyl alcohol may cause localized skin reactions such as contact dermatitis in sensitive individuals
