Indication of Caryon Tablet

Caryon Tablet is used to relieve menstrual pain, manage symptoms of endometriosis and premenstrual syndrome, and support female reproductive health. It is also used in postmenopausal women to manage signs of menopause when combined with estrogens. 

Caryon Tablet is not recommended for Use if You:

• Have a tumor worsened by progestogens, such as meningioma.
• Experience irregular or unusually heavy periods.

How does Caryon Tablet work?

Caryon Tablet helps manage problems related to progesterone deficiency by improving the thickness of the uterine lining. It corrects infertility, and irregular periods, and provides relief from postmenopausal symptoms by replacing deficient progesterone levels.

Before Taking Caryon Tablet, Inform Your Doctor if You:

1. Experience unexpected vaginal bleeding or spotting.
2. Have depression.
3. Are diagnosed with porphyria, a rare inherited blood disorder.
4. Are planning for hormone replacement therapy.
5. Have early menopause, defined as less than 6 months from the last menstrual period.
6. Have a history of blood clots in your body.
7. Have been diagnosed with any type of cancer.
8. Are overweight.
9. Are bedridden for an extended period.
10. Have or have had systemic lupus erythematosus, a serious autoimmune disease.
11. Are scheduled for surgery, a blood test, or a urine test?

Common side effects of Caryon Tablet

Common side effects of Caryon Tablet include headache, migraine, nausea, breast pain or tenderness, and painful, heavy, or irregular periods.

Uncommon side effects of Caryon Tablet

Uncommon side effects may include weight gain, skin rash or itching, depression, dizziness, vomiting, and fluid retention.

Rare side effects of Caryon Tablet

Rare side effects may include low levels of red blood cells, hypersensitivity reactions, swelling of the breasts, sleepiness, and an increase in tumor size affected by progestogens like meningioma.

Interactions with Other Drugs:

• Medications used to manage epilepsy, such as phenobarbital, phenytoin, and carbamazepine, may interact with Dydrogesterone, altering its efficacy.
• Drugs used to manage tuberculosis, including rifampicin and rifabutin, may interfere with Dydrogesterone's effectiveness.
• Medications used to manage HIV infection, such as nevirapine, efavirenz, ritonavir, and nelfinavir, may interact with Dydrogesterone, potentially affecting its metabolism and efficacy.
• St. John's Wort, an herbal medicine commonly used to manage depression, may interact with Dydrogesterone and affect its effectiveness.

Missed Dose of Caryon Tablet

Do not miss the dose of Caryon Tablet. In case you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is time for the next dose, then skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.

Precautions & Warnings

• Dydrogesterone is not recommended for individuals under 18 years of age due to insufficient safety and efficacy data in this population.
• If you have porphyria, a disorder affecting heme production and resulting in the accumulation of porphyrins in the body, use Dydrogesterone cautiously and follow your doctor's instructions closely.
• Exercise caution when using Dydrogesterone if you have depression, as it may exacerbate your symptoms. Monitor for changes in mood or behavior and promptly consult your doctor if any concerns arise.
