Flonaspray 50mcg Nasal Spray is absorbed less into the rest of the body, therefore fewer side effects are seen. Possible side effects include drying of the nose and throat, unpleasant taste and smell, and an increase in the incidence of nosebleeds.

✔️ Indication of Flonaspray 50mcg Nasal Spray

Flonaspray 50mcg Nasal Spray is a steroid that relieves symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as runny nose, sneezing, and sinus discomfort. It works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers that cause inflammation (swelling) and allergies, thus relieving discomfort and irritation in your nose.

✔️ Uses & Cleaning of Flonaspray 50mcg Nasal Spray

How to use:

• Shake the bottle gently and remove the dust cover.
• Hold the spray with your forefinger and middle finger on either side of the nozzle and your thumb underneath the bottle.
• Press down until a fine spray appears. If using for the first time or after a week or more, press the nasal applicator several times until a fine mist comes out.
• Gently blow your nose to clear the nostrils.
• Close one nostril and insert the nasal applicator into the open nostril. Tilt your head forward slightly and keep the spray upright.
• Breathe in through your nose and press the white collar of the nasal applicator firmly down once to release a spray.
• Breathe out through your mouth.
• Repeat for the other nostril.

Cleaning:

• Remove the dust cover.
• Pull off the nasal applicator.
• Wash the applicator and dust cover in warm water.
• Shake off excess water and leave to dry. Avoid additional heat.
• Push the applicator back on the bottle and re-fix the dust cover.

✔️ Dosage

Adults & children over 12 years:

• 2 sprays (100mcg) in each nostril once a day, preferably in the morning.
• In some cases, 2 sprays into each nostril twice daily, not exceeding 4 sprays.

Children under 12 years (4-11 years):

• 1 spray (50mcg) in each nostril once a day. Maximum total daily dosage should not exceed 4 sprays.

Children below 4 years:

• Safety and effectiveness in children below 4 years have not been established.

Nasal polyps (Adults):

• 4 sprays (200 mcg) into each nostril 1-2 times daily for at least 4-6 weeks.

Nasal polyps (Children >16 years):

• 4 sprays (200 mcg) into each nostril 1-2 times daily for at least 4-6 weeks.

✔️ Interactions

• This may lead to increased plasma concentrations of fluticasone when used with CYP4503A4 inhibitors such as ritonavir.

✔️ Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy:

• Available data on inhaled or intranasal fluticasone propionate use in pregnant women have not reported a clear association with adverse developmental outcomes.
• Fluticasone propionate crossed the placenta following subcutaneous administration to mice and rats and oral administration to rabbits.
• Use during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.

Lactation:

• There are no available data on fluticasone propionate in human milk, its effects on breastfed children, or its effects on milk production.
• Consider the benefits of breastfeeding along with any potential adverse effects from treatment.

• Rare instances of wheezing, nasal septum perforation, cataracts, glaucoma, and increased intraocular pressure have been reported.
• Systemic effects are minimal with recommended doses, but potential risks increase with larger doses.
• Use caution when administered to a nursing woman.
