Asthma:

Fluticasone Propionate treats and prevents asthma symptoms (including wheezing and shortness of breath) in adults and children over 4 years of age by reducing airway swelling.

Allergic Rhinitis:

• Allergic rhinitis is an allergic reaction to allergens such as dust, animal dander, and pollens. Fluticasone Propionate relieves symptoms such as sneezing, runny, stuffy, or itchy nose.

Inflammatory Skin Conditions:

• Conditions like dermatitis (skin irritation) and eczema (itchy swelling on the skin) cause symptoms such as redness, skin blisters, soreness, and rashes. The topical form of Fluticasone Propionate treats these inflammatory skin conditions by preventing the release of substances that cause inflammation.

✔️ How does Fluticasone Propionate work?

Fluticasone Propionate works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers that cause inflammation (redness and swelling) and allergies. It has potent anti-inflammatory and vasoconstrictor effects.

✔️ Side Effects of Fluvent 50mcg Nasal Spray

• Pregnancy: There are limited studies in humans. Animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Use during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
• Breastfeeding: It is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggest that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.

• Avoid certain foods that are known to trigger allergies.
• Processed foods and those high in sugar and fat should be avoided because they may trigger inflammation.
• Reduce your daily salt intake and replace it with herbs or spices such as garlic, ginger, and turmeric, which contain natural anti-inflammatory ingredients.
• Please avoid contact with dust as it might worsen your symptoms.
• Stop smoking; quitting smoking can significantly reduce the severity and frequency of your symptoms.
• Fluvent 50mcg Nasal Spray might make your body prone to infections. So, getting in contact with people having chickenpox, measles, or tuberculosis should be avoided.
• Regular bone mineral density tests are recommended while on treatment with FLUTICASONE PROPIONATE.

✔️ Pharmacology:

Fluticasone utilizes a fluorocarbothioate ester linkage at the C17 position. It has potent vasoconstrictive and anti-inflammatory activity but weak HPA inhibitory effects when applied topically.

✔️ Dosage & Administration of Fluvent 50mcg Nasal Spray

• Adults with Nasal Allergic Rhinitis: 2 sprays (100 mcg) in each nostril once a day, preferably in the morning. In some cases, 2 sprays into each nostril twice daily, not exceeding 4 sprays.
• Adults with Nasal Polyps: 4 sprays (200 mcg) into each nostril 1-2 times daily for at least 4-6 weeks.
• Children over 12 years with Nasal Allergic Rhinitis: 2 sprays (100 mcg) in each nostril once a day, preferably in the morning. In some cases, 2 sprays into each nostril twice daily, not exceeding 4 sprays.
• Children 4-11 years with Nasal Allergic Rhinitis: 1 spray (50 mcg) in each nostril once a day. The maximum total daily dosage should not exceed 4 sprays.
• Children >16 years with Nasal Polyps: 4 sprays (200 mcg) into each nostril 1-2 times daily for at least 4-6 weeks.

Drug-Drug Interactions

FLUTICASONE PROPIONATE may interact with:

• Anti-fungal medications: such as ketoconazole
• HIV medications: such as ritonavir
• Other Steroid Medications: Inform your doctor if you are taking any other steroid medicines.

Drug-Food Interactions

Drug-Disease Interactions

• Hyperadrenocorticism: Excess of adrenocortical hormones
