Rostab Tablet contains Rosuvastatin, a statin medicine used to lower high cholesterol and improve blood lipid levels. It helps reduce LDL ("bad") cholesterol, total cholesterol, triglycerides, and ApoB while increasing HDL ("good") cholesterol. Rostab is also used to slow the progression of atherosclerosis and reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and certain cardiovascular procedures in people at increased cardiovascular risk. It should be used alongside a healthy diet, regular exercise, and other lifestyle modifications.
Rosuvastatin works by blocking HMG-CoA reductase, the enzyme responsible for cholesterol production in the liver. It increases the number of LDL receptors on liver cells, helping remove LDL cholesterol from the bloodstream while reducing the production of VLDL particles. This results in healthier cholesterol levels and improved cardiovascular protection.
Take Rostab exactly as prescribed by your physician. The dose depends on your cholesterol levels, treatment goals, kidney function, and other medications you may be taking.
Recommended doses include:
Take the tablet once daily, with or without food, preferably at the same time each day.
These medicines may increase the risk of side effects or require dose adjustments.
Rostab should not be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Women of childbearing age should use effective contraception during treatment. If pregnancy occurs, stop the medicine and consult your doctor immediately.
Your doctor may recommend liver function tests before starting treatment and periodically during therapy. Treatment should be stopped if significant muscle injury or markedly elevated creatine kinase levels are suspected.
Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
