Generic Name: Vonoprazan
Therapeutic Class: Potassium-Competitive Acid Blocker (P-CAB)
Dosage Forms: Tablet
Vonoprazan is a Potassium-Competitive Acid Blocker (P-CAB) that reversibly inhibits the H+, K+-ATPase enzyme in gastric parietal cells. Unlike PPIs, Vonliv does not require acid activation, allowing for rapid onset and sustained acid suppression. It binds directly and competitively with the proton pump, reducing gastric acid secretion and promoting mucosal healing.
