How does Marlox Plus Tablet work?

Marlox Plus Tablet is a medication that belongs to the antacid and anti-ulcerate group of medicines. It is used to alleviate symptoms associated with acidity, bloating, indigestion, heartburn, and gas.

Marlox Plus Tablet contains a combination of two active ingredients: Magaldrate (an antacid) and Simethicone (an anti-flatulent). Simethicone, on the other hand, is a mixture of silica gel and dimethicone (also known as activated dimethicone). Side Effects of Marlox Plus Tablet

Indication of Marlox Plus Tablet

Marlox Plus Tablet is used to treat a variety of conditions, including hiatal hernia, gastroesophageal reflux, acid indigestion, sour stomach, and dyspepsia. Additionally, it is used to treat esophagitis, gastritis, and peptic ulcer-related hyperacidity. Children can receive magaldrate if necessary. This medication is also used to treat windy colic, flatulence, and stomach discomfort.

Pharmacology

In this product, magaldrate and simethicone are combined. Magaldrate, also known as magnesium aluminum compound or hydroxy magnesium aluminate, quickly neutralizes stomach acid while keeping the pH between 5 and 6. Additionally decreased is pepsin activity in gastric secretion. In addition, the simethicone found in Marlox Plus helps the gas bubbles clump together and relieve flatulence.

Dosage & Administration of Marlox Plus Tablet

• Tablet: 1 to 4 chewable tablets, taken at bedtime and 20 to 60 minutes after meals, or as prescribed by a doctor.
• Suspension: Take 2-4 teaspoonfuls (10–20 ml) of suspension 20–60 minutes after meals and before bed, or as your doctor instructs.
