✔️ Side Effects

• Chalky or metallic taste

✔️ Dosage & Administration

Use Avlocid MS only as directed by a registered physician. The appropriate dose depends on the patient's age, severity of symptoms, and clinical response.

Adults

Oral Suspension:

• 2–4 teaspoonfuls taken 3–4 times daily
• Administer 20–60 minutes after meals and at bedtime, or as prescribed by the physician.

Children

Children aged 12 years and above:

• 2–4 teaspoonfuls taken 3–4 times daily
• Administer 20–60 minutes after meals and at bedtime, or according to medical advice.

Administration Instructions

• Shake the bottle well before every use.
• Measure each dose using the supplied measuring cup or a calibrated measuring device.
• Take the suspension orally after meals or as directed by your physician.
• Continue treatment for the full prescribed duration, even if symptoms improve earlier.
• Maintain an interval of at least 2 hours between Avlocid MS and other oral medications, as antacids may interfere with their absorption.

✔️ Use Avlocid MS cautiously in patients with:

• Renal impairment
• Hypophosphataemia
• Debilitated or elderly patients
• Liver disease, when clinically indicated

Patients should inform their healthcare provider before starting treatment if they are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.

Seek immediate medical attention if symptoms suggest appendicitis, including persistent lower abdominal pain, severe cramping, nausea, vomiting, or worsening abdominal distension.

To reduce the risk of constipation, maintain adequate hydration and consume a diet rich in dietary fiber.

✔️ Avlocid MS is contraindicated in patients with:

• Hypersensitivity to Magaldrate, Simethicone, magnesium-containing compounds, aluminum-containing compounds, or any component of the formulation.
• Severe renal impairment or significantly reduced kidney function.

✔️ Interaction

Magaldrate may reduce the absorption of certain orally administered medications. Caution is advised when Avlocid MS is used concurrently with:

• Tetracycline antibiotics
• Benzodiazepines
• Indomethacin
• Other medications whose gastrointestinal absorption may be affected by antacids

To minimize potential drug interactions, administer Avlocid MS at least 2 hours before or after other oral medications.

Prolonged use or administration of high doses may alter bowel habits, occasionally causing constipation or diarrhea.
