Butamirate acts centrally as a cough suppressant, particularly in non-productive cough.
✔️ Side Effects of Bukof-D Syrup 100ml
Generally well-tolerated, with rare occurrences of adverse reactions such as dermatitis, nausea, diarrhea, and vertigo, which resolve upon dose adjustment or discontinuation.

- Butamirate Citrate acts by directly suppressing the cough center in the brain.

Adult Dose:
- Syrup: Adults: 15 ml 4 times daily; Adolescents: 15 ml 4 times daily.
Child Dose:
- Syrup: Children (6-12 years): 10 ml 3 times daily, Children (3-6 years): 5 ml 3 times daily.

Concomitant use with expectorants may lead to mucous retention in the respiratory system, increasing the risk of bronchospasm and airway infection.
