✔️ Dosage

Adults (Including Elderly Patients)

• Recommended dose: One capsule once daily
• Take approximately 30 minutes after the same meal each day
• Swallow the capsule whole with water
• Do not chew, crush, or open the capsule

Patients already taking separate Tamsulosin and Dutasteride therapy may be switched to Urinom D Capsule for treatment convenience, as advised by their physician.

Renal Impairment

• No routine dose adjustment is generally required.
• Use with caution in patients with severe kidney impairment.

Hepatic Impairment

• Use cautiously in patients with mild to moderate liver dysfunction.
• Contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic impairment.

✔️ Drug Interaction

Medicines That May Increase Dutasteride Levels

• Ketoconazole
• Itraconazole
• Ritonavir
• Indinavir
• Nefazodone
• Verapamil
• Diltiazem

Medicines Requiring Caution with Tamsulosin

• Cimetidine
• Warfarin
• Diclofenac
• Other alpha-blockers
• Blood pressure-lowering medications
• PDE5 inhibitors such as sildenafil, tadalafil, and vardenafil

Concomitant use with these medicines may increase the risk of dizziness, low blood pressure, or other adverse effects.

✔️ Contraindications

Do not use Urinom D Capsule if you:

• Are allergic to Tamsulosin, Dutasteride, or any ingredient in the formulation
• Have hypersensitivity to soy or peanuts
• Have a history of orthostatic hypotension
• Have severe liver disease
• Are a woman, child, or adolescent

✔️ Safety Precautions

Cardiovascular Risk

Combination therapy should be prescribed after careful evaluation of benefits and risks. Some studies have reported a slightly increased incidence of cardiac failure in patients receiving Dutasteride together with an alpha-blocker.

PSA Monitoring and Prostate Cancer Screening

Patients should undergo prostate evaluation, including PSA testing, before and during treatment. Dutasteride can lower PSA levels by approximately 50%, so ongoing monitoring is important for accurate prostate cancer assessment.

Orthostatic Hypotension

Tamsulosin may cause a drop in blood pressure when standing, leading to dizziness or fainting. Patients should:

• Rise slowly from sitting or lying positions
• Sit or lie down immediately if dizziness occurs

Cataract Surgery

Patients scheduled for cataract surgery should inform their ophthalmologist before treatment, as Tamsulosin may cause Intraoperative Floppy Iris Syndrome (IFIS).

Leaking Capsules

Dutasteride can be absorbed through the skin. Women, children, and adolescents should avoid contact with damaged or leaking capsules. Wash exposed skin immediately with soap and water.

Liver and Kidney Disease

Use cautiously in patients with mild to moderate liver impairment and severe kidney dysfunction.

Breast Changes

Patients should promptly report any breast lumps, enlargement, tenderness, or nipple discharge to their healthcare provider.

• Keep out of reach of children.
