Tamsin D Capsule is a combination medication used to treat Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), commonly known as an enlarged prostate gland in men. It contains Tamsulosin and Dutasteride, two active ingredients that work together to improve urinary flow, relieve urinary symptoms, and help manage prostate enlargement.
This medicine helps reduce symptoms such as difficulty urinating, frequent urination, weak urine stream, and the feeling of incomplete bladder emptying. It is intended for the management of BPH and is not used for the prevention of prostate cancer.
Tamsulosin
Tamsulosin is a selective alpha-1 adrenergic receptor blocker. It relaxes the muscles in the prostate, bladder neck, and urinary tract, making it easier for urine to pass and improving urinary flow.
Dutasteride
Dutasteride is a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor that reduces the production of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone involved in prostate growth. Lower DHT levels help shrink the enlarged prostate and address the underlying cause of BPH.
Adults:
