Doxiflo 200 | 10 Tablets

✔️ Dosage & Administration

Adults:

400 mg tablet two or three times daily, or as prescribed by the physician.

Elderly:

200 mg tablet two or three times daily.

Children:

>12 years: 200 mg tablet or 10 ml syrup two or three times daily.

6–12 years: 6–9 mg/kg body weight twice daily (e.g., 3 ml syrup or 60 mg twice daily for a 10 kg child).

For a daily requirement of 400 mg, the Doxophylline SR tablet may be taken once daily.

✔️ Common adverse reactions include:

Nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain

Headache, insomnia, irritability, dizziness

Tachycardia, palpitations, tachypnea

Rarely, hyperglycemia or albuminuria

✔️ Interaction

• Avoid co-administration with other xanthine derivatives or caffeine-containing foods/beverages.
• Use cautiously with ephedrine or sympathomimetic agents.
• Drugs such as erythromycin, cimetidine, clindamycin, allopurinol, propranolol, and influenza vaccine may reduce hepatic clearance of Doxophylline, leading to increased plasma levels.
• Phenytoin, anticonvulsants, and cigarette smoking may increase clearance, reducing its effect — dose adjustment may be needed.

✔️ Contraindications:

Known hypersensitivity to Doxophylline or other xanthine derivatives

• Acute myocardial infarction
• Hypotension
• During lactation

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

• Animal studies show no adverse effects on prenatal or postnatal growth, but human data are limited.
• Use during pregnancy only if benefits outweigh potential risks.
• Contraindicated during lactation, as safety in breastfeeding is not established.

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

Reduced hepatic clearance may occur in elderly patients and those with heart failure, COPD, liver disease, or infections — dose adjustment and drug level monitoring are recommended.

• Use cautiously in hypertension, peptic ulcer, renal impairment, hyperthyroidism, and hypoxemia.
• Clearance is slower in congestive heart failure, potentially causing prolonged elevated levels.
• No risk of addiction or dependency.

Store in a cool, dry place below 30°C, away from light and moisture.
Keep out of the reach of children.
