Budetide contains Budesonide, a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation by inhibiting the release of chemical mediators in the lungs. This decreases swelling in the airways, allowing easier breathing.
Budetide is an inhaled corticosteroid used as a preventive (controller) therapy for asthma. It helps reduce airway inflammation and prevents symptoms such as wheezing and shortness of breath.
It does not provide immediate relief during an asthma attack, so a fast-acting reliever inhaler should always be available.

Hypersensitivity to budesonide or formulation components
Pregnancy:
There are no well-controlled clinical studies of budesonide use in pregnant women. However, available published data suggest that inhaled budesonide does not increase the risk of congenital abnormalities when used during pregnancy. No adequate studies have evaluated its effects during labor and delivery.
Animal studies have shown that systemic exposure (via subcutaneous administration) may cause fetal abnormalities, embryo loss, and reduced fetal weight at doses lower than the maximum recommended human inhalation dose. However, these adverse effects were not observed with inhaled doses at approximately twice the recommended human dose. It is also known that animals, particularly rodents, are more sensitive to corticosteroid-induced effects than humans.
Uncontrolled or poorly controlled asthma during pregnancy increases the risk of complications such as preeclampsia, preterm birth, low birth weight, and small-for-gestational-age infants. Therefore, pregnant patients with asthma should be closely monitored, and treatment should be adjusted to maintain optimal disease control.
Lactation:
There is limited information regarding the effects of budesonide on breastfed infants or milk production. Budesonide is known to pass into breast milk. The benefits of breastfeeding should be carefully weighed against the mother’s need for treatment and any potential risks to the infant.
