Rhinil Syrup 60ml
Rhinil contains cetirizine, an antihistamine used to relieve symptoms associated with allergic conditions. It is indicated for:
- Allergic rhinitis, including seasonal allergies and hay fever
- Sneezing and runny nose
- Itchy, watery eyes
- Urticaria (hives) and allergic skin reactions
- Itching and rashes caused by allergies
- Symptoms associated with insect bites and stings
- Rhinil may cause drowsiness or dizziness. Be cautious when driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you.
- Avoid alcohol because it may increase drowsiness.
- Inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, liver disease, or epilepsy.
- Tell your doctor about other medicines you take, especially sedatives or tranquillisers.
- Do not exceed the recommended dose.
- Cetirizine may affect allergy skin-test results. Ask your doctor how long before testing you should stop taking it; do not discontinue prescribed treatment without advice.

✅ Description:
Rhinil contains cetirizine, which selectively blocks histamine H1 receptors. Histamine is a chemical released by the body during an allergic reaction. By blocking its effects, cetirizine helps relieve sneezing, itching, runny nose, watery eyes, and skin rashes.
The dosage depends on the patient's age, symptoms, kidney function, and the formulation prescribed.
- Adults: The usual dose is 10 mg once daily or 5 mg twice daily, as directed by a physician.
- Elderly patients: A lower dose may be necessary.
- Children: The dose depends on age and formulation. Follow the doctor's instructions and the product label.
- Patients with kidney impairment: Dose adjustment may be required.
Swallow the tablet whole with water. Rhinil may be taken with or without food. Take it at the same time each day if regular treatment is required.
Possible side effects include:
- Sleepiness or drowsiness
- Headache
- Fatigue
- Dizziness
- Dry mouth
- Diarrhoea or stomach discomfort
Most side effects are mild. Consult your doctor if they persist or become troublesome. Seek urgent medical attention if you experience facial or throat swelling or difficulty breathing.
Rhinil should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to cetirizine or any of its ingredients. Patients with severe kidney impairment or other significant medical conditions should consult their doctor before use.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before taking Rhinil. Cetirizine passes into breast milk, so its use during breastfeeding should be assessed by a healthcare professional.
Rhinil may increase drowsiness when taken with:
- Sedatives and tranquillisers
- Sleeping medicines
- Other medicines that depress the central nervous system
- Alcohol
- Inform your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines and supplements you use.
Store in a dry place, away from light and heat. Keep out of the reach of children.
