✔️ How does Solbion Injection work?

• Vitamin B1 (Thiamine), B6 (Pyridoxine), and B12 (Cyanocobalamin) play essential roles as co-enzymes for the metabolism of the nervous system.

✔️ Composition:

Each 3 ml ampoule contains:

• Thiamine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B1) 100 mg
• Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6) 100 mg
• Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12) 1000 mcg

✔️ Indication of Solbion Injection

• B1, B6, and B12 deficiency syndrome
• Sciatica
• Lumbago
• Trigeminal neuralgia
• Facial paralysis
• Optic neuritis
• Diabetic neuropathy

✔️ Pharmacology:

• Vitamin B1: Converts carbohydrates, fatty acids, and amino acids into energy, promotes healthy nerves, improves mood, and strengthens the heart.
• Vitamin B6: Forms RBCs, helps cells make proteins, manufactures neurotransmitters (e.g., serotonin), releases stored forms of energy, helps prevent cardiovascular diseases and stroke, lifts depression, and eases insomnia.
• Vitamin B12: Essential for cell replication, important for RBC production, prevents anemia, helps prevent depression, reduces nerve pain, numbness, and tingling, and lowers the risk of heart diseases.

✔️ Dosage & Administration of Solbion Injection

Injection: Intramuscular injection in severe cases, 1 injection daily until acute symptoms subside. For milder cases and follow-up therapy, 2 or 3 injections should be administered weekly.

No overdosage symptoms are expected in the recommended dosage. Symptomatic and supportive treatment in case of known overdose.

✔️ Contraindications

• Should not be used in patients on Levodopa therapy.
• Hypersensitivity to any of the active ingredients.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

Oral tablet form is recommended, but due to the presence of benzyl alcohol, injection is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation.

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

• Cyanocobalamin should not be given before a diagnosis has been fully established to avoid masking symptoms of subacute degeneration of the spinal cord.
• Cyanocobalamin is not a suitable form of Vitamin B12 for the treatment of optic neuropathies associated with raised plasma concentrations of cyanocobalamin.
