Indications:

This cream is indicated for the short-term treatment of moderate to severe chloasma on the face. Sun exposure should be avoided post-treatment and sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher is recommended.

Pharmacology:

The cream contains fluocinolone acetate, hydroquinone, and tretinoin. While the exact mechanism is unclear, fluocinolone is an anti-inflammatory corticosteroid, hydroquinone disrupts melanin synthesis, and tretinoin is a keratolytic agent.

Dosage & Administration:

Apply once daily at night, at least 30 minutes before bedtime. Gently wash and pat dry the face and neck. Apply a thin film to hyperpigmented areas of melasma, avoiding sun exposure. Use sunscreen during the day, and moisturizers/cosmetics are permitted.

Interaction

Avoid medicinal or abrasive products, drying cosmetics, alcohol-containing products, astringents, and keratolytic drugs. Concurrent use of photosensitive drugs should be avoided.

Contraindications:

Contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity, allergy, or intolerance to the product or its ingredients.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy: Category C; contains teratogenic retinoic acid. Use during pregnancy only if benefits justify potential risks. No adequate studies on pregnant women.

Lactation: Systemic absorption of corticosteroids may occur. Caution is advised during breastfeeding.

Precautions & Warnings

May cause local irritation. Discontinue if allergic reactions occur. Contains corticosteroid fluocinolone; systemic absorption may suppress the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis. Manifestations like Cushing's syndrome, hyperglycemia, and diabetes are possible. Discontinue if HPA axis inhibition is suspected. Hydroquinone and tretinoin in the cream can cause mild to moderate irritation. Transient redness or mild burning does not necessarily indicate an allergic reaction. If an allergic or irritative response occurs, discontinue use. Care should be taken in breastfeeding women due to potential systemic absorption.
