Glucosamine is a naturally occurring substance essential for the production of joint lubricants and shock-absorbing compounds that help maintain healthy cartilage and normal joint function.
Glucosamine hydrochloride acts as a prodrug, which is well absorbed after oral administration and distributes into various tissues, including bones and articular cartilage. 500 mg tablet three times daily, or as directed by a physician
Alternatively, a single daily dose of 1500 mg may be effective
Obese patients may require higher doses based on body weight
