✔️ Uses of VIR 0.5 Tablet

• Treatment of chronic hepatitis B (HBV) infection in adults and eligible children
• Management of HBV infection with active viral replication and liver inflammation
• Treatment of hepatitis B in patients with compensated or decompensated liver disease

✔️ Missed Dose

If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

✔️ Recommended Dosage

Adults and Adolescents (16 years and older)

Chronic Hepatitis B (Treatment-Naïve Patients)

• 0.5 mg once daily

Lamivudine-Resistant or Refractory HBV

• 1 mg once daily

Decompensated Liver Disease

• 1 mg once daily

Dosage adjustments may be required in patients with kidney impairment.

✔️ How to Take VIR 0.5 Tablet

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
• Swallow the tablet whole with water.
• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.
• Take on an empty stomach, at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after a meal.
• Try to take the medicine at the same time each day for the best results.

✔️ Seek immediate medical attention if you experience:

• Signs of liver problems such as yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, or severe abdominal pain
• Symptoms of lactic acidosis, including rapid breathing, muscle pain, unusual weakness, severe fatigue, or stomach discomfort
• Severe allergic reactions such as rash, swelling, or breathing difficulties

✔️ Do not use VIR 0.5 Tablet if you have:

• A known allergy to Entecavir or any of its ingredients

✔️ Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Pregnancy

• Use during pregnancy only if clearly needed and recommended by your doctor.
• Available human data are limited.

Breastfeeding

• It is not known whether Entecavir passes into human breast milk.
• Breastfeeding is generally not recommended while receiving treatment unless advised by a healthcare professional.

✔️ Tell your doctor about all medicines you take, especially:

• Drugs that affect kidney function
• Medicines that compete for renal tubular secretion
• Other antiviral treatments

These medications may alter Entecavir levels or increase the risk of side effects.

✔️ Before taking VIR 0.5 Tablet, inform your doctor if you:

• Have kidney disease
• Have liver disease or cirrhosis
• Are taking other antiviral medications
• Have a history of hypersensitivity to Entecavir

Regular monitoring of liver function, kidney function, HBV viral load, and blood counts may be required during treatment and for several months after discontinuation.

✔️ Storage:

• Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Use the medicine before the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
