Ceforan 50 ml Suspension is a cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections, including infections of the lungs (such as pneumonia), urinary tract, ear, sinuses, throat, and skin. It works by destroying the bacteria responsible for the infection, helping relieve symptoms and promote recovery. It is not effective against viral infections such as the common cold or influenza.
Take Ceforan 50 ml with food, exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Take it at the same time each day and complete the full course of treatment, even if you start feeling better. Stopping the antibiotic early may allow bacteria to survive, increasing the risk of the infection returning and contributing to antibiotic resistance.
Common side effects include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, rash, and stomach discomfort. Taking the medicine after meals may help reduce stomach upset. Contact your doctor if side effects become severe or persistent. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling of the face, itching, rash, or difficulty breathing.
Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have a history of allergy to cephalosporins or penicillins, kidney disease, or liver problems. This medicine is generally considered safe during pregnancy when prescribed by a physician. Although only small amounts pass into breast milk, breastfeeding mothers should use it only under medical advice. It may occasionally cause dizziness, drowsiness, or blurred vision, so avoid driving or operating machinery if these occur.
