Temcard-A 80/5 is used for:
- Hypertension (high blood pressure).
- Blood pressure control when a combination of telmisartan and amlodipine is considered appropriate.

Temcard-A 80/5 is a prescription medicine containing two active ingredients: telmisartan 80 mg and amlodipine 5 mg. It is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Telmisartan relaxes blood vessels by blocking the action of angiotensin II, while amlodipine relaxes blood vessel walls by reducing calcium entry into vascular muscle cells. Together, they help lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications associated with uncontrolled hypertension.
Temcard-A 80/5 can be taken with or without food. Take it at the same time each day, exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole unless the product instructions state otherwise. Continue treatment even when you feel well, because high blood pressure often has no noticeable symptoms. Do not stop taking the medicine without consulting your doctor.
Common side effects may include ankle or foot swelling, dizziness, headache, flushing, tiredness, sleepiness, palpitations, and stomach discomfort. Telmisartan may increase potassium levels in the blood. Contact your doctor if side effects persist or become troublesome.
Telmisartan can cause serious harm to an unborn baby and must be discontinued under medical guidance if pregnancy occurs. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine while breastfeeding, as an alternative may be more appropriate.

Adult Dose
The recommended dose depends on the patient's current blood pressure, previous treatment, and response to therapy. Temcard-A 80/5 contains telmisartan 80 mg and amlodipine 5 mg per tablet. It may be prescribed as a replacement for separately adjusted ingredients or when a doctor determines that this combination strength is suitable.
Do not initiate or increase the dose without medical supervision. The maximum recommended daily combination dose is generally telmisartan 80 mg and amlodipine 10 mg, subject to the applicable product information and the patient's clinical circumstances.
Paediatric Dose
Safety and effectiveness depend on the patient's age and the approved product information. Do not give Temcard-A 80/5 to children unless a specialist specifically prescribes an appropriate treatment.
Renal Impairment
Dose adjustment may not be necessary in some patients with mild to moderate renal impairment, but clinical monitoring is important. Use caution in severe renal impairment, renal artery stenosis, or conditions that may affect kidney function. Monitor kidney function and potassium levels as recommended by the treating physician.
