Telisa A 40/5 Tablet

✔️ Telisa-A combines two blood pressure-lowering agents with complementary mechanisms:

• Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a substance that causes blood vessels to narrow. This helps lower blood pressure and reduces the workload on the heart.
• Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker (CCB) that relaxes the muscles of the blood vessel walls, allowing blood to flow more easily and lowering blood pressure.

Together, these medicines provide effective and sustained blood pressure control.

✔️ Do not take Telisa-A if you have:

• Allergy to Telmisartan, Amlodipine, or any component of the formulation
• Pregnancy
• Severe liver impairment or biliary obstruction
• Cardiogenic shock
• Severe hypotension
• Significant left ventricular outflow tract obstruction

✔️ Telisa-A may interact with:

• Other blood pressure-lowering medicines
• ACE inhibitors
• Potassium supplements or potassium-sparing diuretics
• NSAIDs (long-term use may reduce blood pressure control and affect kidney function)
• CYP2C19 substrates (potential interaction with telmisartan)

Amlodipine has no clinically significant interactions with many commonly used medicines, including digoxin, warfarin, atorvastatin, sildenafil, and grapefruit juice. Always inform your healthcare provider about all medicines and supplements you are taking.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

• Do not use during pregnancy, particularly during the second and third trimesters, as it may harm the developing baby.
• Breastfeeding is generally not recommended while taking this medicine. Consult your doctor to discuss the best option.

✔️ Dosage & Administration

• Take once daily or exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
• The tablet may be taken with or without food.
• Swallow the tablet whole with water.
• Dosage should be individualized according to blood pressure response.
• Dose adjustments are generally made after at least 2 weeks, with a maximum recommended dose of 80 mg/10 mg once daily.

✔️ Safety Information:

• Correct dehydration or low salt levels before starting treatment.
• Rise slowly from sitting or lying positions, especially during the first few days of therapy, to reduce the risk of dizziness.
• Use cautiously in patients with liver disease, severe kidney impairment, heart failure, or coronary artery disease.
• Avoid combining Telisa-A with ACE inhibitors unless specifically directed by your doctor.
• Patients with severe coronary artery disease may rarely experience worsening chest pain or heart attack when starting amlodipine therapy.
