✔️ How does Ruvan Z 10/10 work?

Ruvan Z 10/10 contains Rosuvastatin and Ezetimibe, which works through a dual-action approach to target cholesterol from two different sources in your body. 

Rosuvastatin: It belongs to a class of medicines called statins. It works in your liver to block a specific enzyme that your body needs to produce cholesterol. By slowing down this production, your liver starts to pull existing cholesterol out of your blood, lowering your overall levels. 

Ezetimibe. It works in your small intestine. It blocks the absorption of cholesterol that you get from the food you eat, as well as cholesterol that is naturally released by your digestive system. 

• Together, these two actions significantly reduce the amount of bad cholesterol circulating in your bloodstream.

✔️ Safety Information:

• Monitor your muscles: Report any new, unexplained muscle pain or weakness to your doctor immediately, as this could be a sign of a rare but serious muscle condition.
• Routine blood tests: Attend all scheduled appointments for blood tests so your doctor can monitor your liver function and check how well the medicine is working.
• Check other medications: Always check with your pharmacist before starting any new over-the-counter medicines, herbal remedies, or supplements.
• Avoid grapefruit juice: Limit or avoid drinking large amounts of grapefruit juice, as it may interfere with how your body processes this medication.
• Do not stop suddenly: Continue taking Ruvan Z 10/10 even if you feel completely fine; high cholesterol usually has no symptoms, and stopping the medicine may cause your cholesterol levels to rise again.

✔️ Dosage & Administration of Ruvan Z 10/10

The dosage range is 5/10 mg to 40/10 mg orally once a day. The recommended dosage depends on the indication for use, LDL-C, and individual risk for cardiovascular events.

Patients with severe renal impairment (not on hemodialysis): Initiate at 5 mg/10 mg once daily; do not exceed 10 mg/10 mg once daily. Patients should swallow the tablet whole.

Tablets should not be crushed, dissolved, or chewed. Administer at least 2 hours before or 4 hours after administration of a bile acid sequestrant. Administer at least 2 hours before administration of an aluminium and magnesium hydroxide combination antacid.

Pediatric Use: Safety and effectiveness have not been established in pediatric patients.

Geriatric Use: No dosage adjustment is necessary.

✔️ Drug Interaction

• Antivirals (e.g., ritonavir): May significantly increase the levels of this medicine in your blood, raising the risk of serious muscle damage.
• Immunosuppressants (e.g., Cyclosporine): Taking this medicine alongside Ruvan Z 10/10 may significantly increase its levels in your body and increase the risk of muscle damage.
• Other cholesterol-lowering medicines (e.g., gemfibrozil, fenofibrate): Can increase the risk of severe muscle pain and weakness when taken together.
• Blood thinners (e.g., warfarin): Ruvan Z 10/10 Tablet may alter the effects of blood thinners, which can increase your risk of bleeding. Your doctor may need to monitor your blood clotting times more closely.
• Antacids (e.g., aluminium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide): Can lower the absorption of Ruvan Z 10/10 Tablet . Take these antacids at least 2 hours after taking your cholesterol medicine.
