✅ Description:

Sertaconazole is an imidazole-class antifungal agent. It inhibits the fungal cytochrome P450–dependent enzyme 14-α-lanosterol demethylase, resulting in impaired synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane. Depletion of ergosterol disrupts membrane integrity, causing leakage of intracellular components and subsequent fungal cell death.

Pediatric Use:
Safety and efficacy have not been established in children below 12 years.

Geriatric Use:
Clinical studies did not include adequate numbers of patients aged 65 years or older to determine age-specific differences in response.
