Administration & Dosage of Neozine Cream
- Cleanse burn wounds before application.
- Apply once to twice daily, 1/16 inches thick.
- Reapply after hydrotherapy.
- Continue until healing or ready for grafting.
Interaction of Neozine Cream
- Enzymatic Debriding Agents: May inactivate them.
- Oral Hypoglycemic Agents/Phenytoin: Levels may be potentiated in large-area burns.
- Cimetidine: May increase leukopenia incidence.
Contraindications of Neozine Cream
- Hypersensitivity to ingredients.
- Not for pregnant women at term, premature infants, or newborns in the first two months.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
- Category B: Use if clearly justified in pregnancy.
- Not known if excreted in human milk. Consider risk-benefit in nursing mothers.
Precautions & Warnings:
- Monitor hepatic and renal functions.
- Caution with topical proteolytic enzymes.
- Monitor serum sulfa concentrations in extensive burn wounds.
