Pharmacology

1. Vaginal candidiasis: 150 mg as a single dose.
2. Oropharyngeal candidiasis: 200 mg on the first day, followed by 100 mg once daily. Continue treatment for at least 2 weeks to reduce the chance of relapse.
3. Esophageal candidiasis: 200 mg on the first day, followed by 100 mg once daily. Doses up to 400 mg/day may be used. Treat for a minimum of three weeks and at least two weeks after symptom resolution.
4. Systemic candida infections: Optimal dosage and duration have not been established, but doses of up to 400 mg daily have been used.
5. Urinary tract infections and peritonitis caused by candida: 50-200 mg daily.
6. Cryptococcal meningitis: 400 mg on the first day, followed by 200 mg once daily.
7. Prophylaxis for bone marrow transplantation patients: 400 mg once daily.

For children, the recommended oral dose is 3-6 mg/kg daily, with doses up to 12 mg/kg recommended. Interaction

• Terfenadine, Voriconazole, Clarithromycin, Erythromycin, Ranolazine, Lomitapide, Donepezil, Pimozide, Quinidine: Never take Fluconazole with these medicines, as it can cause a life-threatening heart rhythm condition (torsades de pointes).
• Anesthetic medicines like Alfentanil, and Fentanyl: When used with Flugal 150mg Capsule, the effect of these medicines is increased, leading to increased side effects.
• Medicines for psychotic disorders like Amitriptyline, and Nortriptyline: Concomitant use with Flugal 150mg Capsule increases the effects of these medicines, resulting in more side effects.
• Blood thinners like Warfarin: Concomitant use with Flugal 150mg Capsule may increase the risk of bleeding.
• Medicines for psychotic disorders like Benzodiazepines (Midazolam, Triazolam): The effect of these medicines is increased when used together with Flugal 150mg Capsule, leading to increased side effects.
• Medicines to treat fits like Phenytoin, Carbamazepine: The effect of these medicines is increased on concomitant use with Flugal 150mg Capsule, which can increase the side effects of phenytoin.
