The recommended doses of Flamyd 500mg (Metronidazole) tablet and suspension for various indications in adults and children over 10 years are as follows:

1. Trichomoniasis:

• 200 mg three times daily (tid) or 400 mg twice daily (bid) for 7 days
• 800 mg in the morning and 1-2 grams at night for 2 days
• 2 grams as a single dose for 1 day

For children:

• 7-10 years: 100 mg three times daily (tid)
• 3-7 years: 100 mg twice daily (bid)
• 1-3 years: 50 mg three times daily (tid)

1. Intestinal amoebiasis:

• 800 mg three times daily (tid) for 5 days

For children:

• 7-10 years: 400 mg three times daily (tid)
• 3-7 years: 200 mg four times daily (qid)
• 1-3 years: 200 mg three times daily (tid)

1. Extra-intestinal and asymptomatic amoebiasis:

• 400-800 mg three times daily (tid) for 5-10 days

For children:

• 7-10 years: 200-400 mg three times daily (tid)
• 3-7 years: 100-200 mg four times daily (qid)
• 1-3 years: 100-200 mg three times daily (tid)

1. Giardiasis:

• 2 grams once daily for 3 days

For children:

• 7-10 years: 1 gram once daily
• 3-7 years: 600-800 mg once daily
• 1-3 years: 500 mg once daily

1. Acute ulcerative gingivitis:

• 200 mg three times daily (tid) for 3 days

For children:

• 7-10 years: 100 mg three times daily (tid)
• 3-7 years: 100 mg twice daily (bid)
• 1-3 years: 50 mg three times daily (tid)

1. Acute dental infections:

• 200 mg three times daily (tid) for 3-7 days

1. Bacterial Vaginosis:

• 400 mg twice daily (bid) for 7 days
• 2 grams as a single dose for 1 day

1. Leg ulcers and pressure sores:

• 400 mg three times daily (tid) for 7 days

1. Anaerobic infections:

• 800 mg initially, followed by 400 mg three times daily (tid) for 7 days

For children:

• 1-10 years: 7.5 mg/kg three times daily (tid)

1. Surgical prophylaxis:

• 400 mg three times daily (tid), starting 24 hours before surgery for 1 day

For children:

• 1-10 years: 7.5 mg/kg three times daily (tid)
