Optafenac TS 0.3% Ophthalmic Drop | 5ml
Optafenac TS contains Nepafenac, a prodrug NSAID that is converted in the eye to amfenac, its active metabolite. Amfenac inhibits prostaglandin synthesis by blocking cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, thereby reducing pain, inflammation, and swelling associated with ocular surgery.
- Apply gentle pressure to the inner corner of the eye for approximately 1 minute after instillation.
- Wait at least 5–10 minutes before using another eye medication in the same eye.
- Mild stinging may occur for 1–2 minutes after application.
- Complete the prescribed treatment course.
- Discard the bottle 4 weeks after opening.
- Seek medical advice if irritation, pain, or visual disturbances persist or worsen.

✅ Description:
Optafenac TS is an ophthalmic non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain and inflammation following cataract surgery. It helps reduce postoperative discomfort, redness, and swelling in the eye and may also be used for the prevention of cystoid macular edema (CME) in selected patients.
Before applying the drops, wash your hands thoroughly. Use only the prescribed number of drops and maintain a gap of approximately five minutes between different eye medications. Contact lenses should be removed before administration and reinserted only after at least 15 minutes. Avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye or any surface to prevent contamination and infection.

Post-operative Pain and Inflammation
- Instill 1 drop into the affected eye three times daily beginning 1 day before cataract surgery.
- Continue on the day of surgery and throughout the first 2 weeks after surgery.
Prevention of Post-operative Macular Edema in Diabetic Patients
- Instill 1 drop three times daily starting 1 day before surgery.
- Continue on the day of surgery and for up to 6 weeks following surgery.

- Exercise caution during breastfeeding, as safety data are limited.
